IUPAT Unveils Toronto Health and Dental Centre for Construction Union Members

To further its mission to support, educate, inform and protect members who hold union jobs, the Toronto based IUPAT has announced a new Union Health and Dental Centre. Located at 130 Toro Road in Toronto, adjacent to the IUPAT’s Union Hall, the Union Health and Dental Centre officially opens August 4, 2015 for D.C. 46 and other construction union workers and their families.

DC46 Celebrates New Headquarters With Union Members

This past weekend, District Council 46 celebrated the opening of our new Headquarters at 132 Toro Road with our members and their families. There was a BBQ and tour of the new facilities available, as well as fun activities for the kids to enjoy.

Toronto IUPAT to Hold General Meeting for DC46 Members to Discuss Pensions for Those in Painters Union, Drywall Union, Etc.

Anyone who has joined any union like the IUPAT eventually has questions regarding his or her pension. This isn’t unusual; in fact, it’s to be expected. Pensions are a topic that is involved, and can seem complicated to those uninitiated to the process. That’s the reason why the IUPAT in Toronto is holding a special general meeting of members of DC46 to discuss pensions.

Coming Soon: Union Health and Dental Centre for IUPAT Members

Many IUPAT members have been asking what will be done with our building at 130 Toro Road now that we have moved into our new facility right next door. Well, the building at 130 Toro Road continues to house the OIFSC training centre which provides painting, glazing and health and safety training for our apprentices and members. The training centre will expand a bit to house a new classroom with 20 new state of the art computers to help train our members.

DC46, Local 114 Gives to the Community

Local 114 Members recently donated $1,000.00 to a campaign driven by Corus called Clothes for Kids. The money will be used to buy 30 snowsuits. The campaign hands out around 3000 snowsuits annually and has been doing this for over 26 years.
