Glaziers are professional tradespeople who install, repair, and replace glass in windows, doors, and other building components. They are responsible for creating aesthetically pleasing, energy-efficient, and safe glass installations as well as performing repairs where required.
Being a glazier is an art, and it takes years of practice and experience to be able to effectively cut and install glass.

As we go back to a “new normal” under COVID-19, some training centres, such as IFSTC (Interior Finishing Systems Training Centre) and FTI (Finishing Trades Institute Ontario) have started back up. Mandatory Health and Safety programs for on the job are offered at IFSTC, and Working at Heights and apprentice classes for painters and glaziers are available at FTI.
As part of the Ontario government’s continued efforts to support the construction industry through this period, the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and the Office of the Chief Prevention Officer will be announcing an extension for existing Working at Heights worker certifications.
