TEAM

Become An Active Union Member through TEAM

In order to keep the IUPAT labor movement continuing forward, we must have an in–depth understanding of what qualities formed our union in the beginning, what attributes keep us active today in order to be ready to capture what it takes to keep this organization moving toward the future. It is with that philosophy that TEAM was formed. TEAM stands for Together Educating & Activating Members. And as union activists and members, we know that training gives our Union value. We also know that who and how we train as a Union, demonstrates where we are going in the future.

The question now rests on you. How can you get involved to keep our labor movement strong? Whether you just participate in or become an active member of our train–the–trainer program, we know that your involvement will make your commitment to IUPAT even stronger. Our union depends on our young people to keep us moving forward.

Become and active union member! Call 1-800-668-1823 to either participate in TEAM or learn more about the train–the–trainer program.

The Purpose of TEAM & Why It Matters

TEAM was developed with the following points in mind:

  • to acknowledge the decline in construction union power;
  • to discuss how organizing non-union workers strengthens our "collective bargaining" power;
  • to discuss types of strategic organizing plans and tactics; and,
  • to emphasize the need for immediate action.

Ultimately, this program will educate young union members on why it is imperative that we work together to build solidarity within IUPAT. Together, we can build positive relationships with non–union workers by sharing the unique opportunities that organized labor can provide so they will join our cause.

Take part in this leadership initiative today. Register for TEAM at 1–800–668–1823 and let us know how you would like to participate.
