Volunteer Organizing Comittee
Members of District Council 46 initiate a new volunteer organizing committee.

On February 15, 2011 the first meeting of the volunteer organizing comittee was held.

The members of this committee understand that organizing is the life blood of all trade unions and in order to secure their own future they must help the unorganized become union members.

We also know and understand that our affiliation with DC46 on Ontario Council of Painters and Allied Trades is great advantage to glaziers local 1819, especiallly when it comes to organizing the unorganized.

Because organizing is so important we are asking DC46 and Ontario Council of Painters and Allied Trades to encourage all the affiliated locals Ontario to form volunteer organizing committees.

It is hope of this committee that once this is done, DC46 will facilitate a joint meeting of all the volunteer organizing committees in Ontario. The purpose of this would be to share information and discuss various strategies. It would also allow us to get to know each other and create a better and stronger affiliation. After all, our emblem displays two important words ONE UNION.

The members of the first DC46 volunteer organizing committee are:

         Rob Bower                                Donald Lush
         Ron Leroux                               Jules Bergeret
         Fred Klust                                 Frank Broske

         Cory Challica                             Donker Lawrence
         Kyle Toderwich                          Peter Webster
