Star Awards Program Update: Don’t miss the chance to win! 10/26/2009

STAR AWARDS PROGRAM

Time is running short!! You need to act now!!

Don’t miss the chance to win some nice prizes!!

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

The STAR Awards Program was announced earlier this year and you all received letters and pamphlets explaining the rules and the chance to win prizes.

As the year went by, the STAR Committee listened to you the members and made some changes to try and recognize those members who had taken training outside of our Training Centres, especially if that training helped them to be more employable.

The Committee decided to recognize other types of training such as:
  • EPSCA site training,
  • Sarnia’s Industrial Training Co-op (Valley Training),
  • The North’s (NorCAT Training),
  • Hamilton’s (Nanticoke Industrial Training Centre)
We will recognize any such training if it is the same type of training as provided by our Training Centres and required under the STAR Program.

If you have taken this type of training, you need to
contact your Union Rep and provide them with proof of that training. They can tell if it will be counted!

We may be able to give you credit towards your STAR Award Program prizes.

DONT WAIT!!

DO IT NOW

Training programs that are specific to industrial Ontario IUPAT members that are employed will be accepted. The local Union Representative may approve the specific Health & Safety training  in the area.

Safety is an employee and employer benefit that creates a competitive advantage and is certainly not a cost of doing business. It is a profitable benefit for businesses and employees.
